Yoga therapy – a personal practice designed for you
In a yoga therapy session I will work with you to choose movements, breathing practices and meditations which will be helpful for your well being. These will be simple and enjoyable, and can be fitted into your daily life. We will work from the ancient wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine) which will be backed up by modern medical knowledge.
You might have a specific physical focus, a need for more relaxation in your life, or maybe you just want to be able to do yoga at home. You do not need to have a health condition to benefit from yoga therapy. The focus is on the whole person, rather than on a specific problem.
One to one is the traditional way to learn yoga, and practicing at home on your own empowers you to bring your own positive change and transformation. The yoga therapist is there to support you as long as needed.
You will be asked to commit to an initial course of sessions, usually from 4 – 6, although you may need less than this. I would suggest weekly at first, and then sessions can be spaced out to suit you, so that you can begin to practice at home on your own. After this you may wish to have occasional “top-up” sessions as needed. Sessions can be in your home, or at the Synergy Health clinic in Kendal. It might also be possible to meet on Zoom.
